HISD’s Curriculum and Instruction Team is dedicated to ensuring high quality instruction that leads to student growth and a life-long love for learning. We develop learning partnerships with staff and come alongside teams and individuals to focus on teaching and learning.

Our goals are to

• focus on student achievement and growth
• build horizontal and vertical alignments of curriculum, teaching, and assessments based on state standards
• implement measures of accountability to keep the focus on results and monitor student progress
• provide opportunities for meaningful professional development that impacts student learning
• emphasize collaboration and build professional learning communities
