Parents/Staff:
For this month's edition of the 'Superintendent Blog', I'd like to 'make a toast' to honor some unsung heroes.
Break open the champagne! Okay, maybe not really a toast, as we are a school district. But, let’s celebrate and honor a group of people that represent each of you.
Each January, we honor the dedicated individuals who tirelessly serve the community as volunteers. This group is none other than your local Hudson ISD School Board. Let’s take a moment to shine a spotlight on the incredible work of these unsung heroes of our educational system and show them how much we appreciate their work, leadership, and commitment to ensure our (your) students are getting a high-quality education. As these trustees volunteer their time and expertise to guide the district, they showcase their commitment to creating meaningful educational experiences and opportunities that prepare students for college, careers, and beyond.
I have been blessed beyond measure to work with/for this professional group that represents many facets of the Hudson community. The Hudson ISD Board always makes decisions based on the best interests of our student body. Honestly, this is not always the case among other districts across the state of Texas. You should be proud of the work they do!
Your local board consists of: Katie Baker, Board President; Dr. Shawn Penn, Vice President; Rusty Pitts, Secretary, Aimee Slusher, Chris Smith, Matt Taylor, and Reagan McClenny. For more information on these outstanding heroes, I highly encourage you to read their biographies located on our district website.
These individuals must balance their careers, family lives, and other matters while still spending a significant amount of time attending meetings, participating in training, setting goals/policies, reviewing data, and representing the Hudson community at many events. As stated, I’m beyond blessed to work as a ‘team of eight’ with each of them. I can’t imagine a better group to represent each of you. So, please help me thank them for a job well done.
Thank you Hudson ISD Board of Trustees!!
