Curriculum Goals and Objectives

In order to fulfill the district mission statement of providing experiences that will enable students to become literate, self-disciplined, independent, and responsible learners, we are striving to achieve the following:

(1) To align the curriculum in grades K-12;

(2) Develop an assessment program that will help teachers determine student progress and achievement;

(3) Provide quality staff development for teachers;

(4) Develop a college awareness program that increases the college going rate of students from all ethnic groups and from varying socioeconomic status.

(5) Develop and implement quality At-Risk programs for students who are struggling academically.

In the Fall of 2009, K-12 teachers were asked to begin implementing use of the "CSCOPE" on-line curriculum.  Beginning with the 2010 Fall semester, all teachers are to follow their specific grade level/subject specific scope and sequence as perscribed in CSCOPE.

Suggested activities, teacher assistance, etc. can be found on the CSCOPE site.  Teachers are expected and encouraged to meet the needs of all students in their classrooms by reteaching or extending the curriculum as necessary.

Each campus will provide CSCOPE training and guidance as needed.
